If you’re like me, it’s nothing to stop by the local gas station on your commute and snag a protein bar to hold you over. It’s only $2.50, right? Well if you’re also like me and want to try and prevent excess spending, give these a try. They take minutes to mix, and the longest part is chilling them.

What you Need:

Note : As always, everything I put on here is scalable. In other words, cut this recipe in half if you want less calories.

Food:

2 cups oats

1 cup peanut butter (or almond butter)

1/2 cup honey or maple syrup

1-2 scoops protein powder of choice (the more the better)

2 tsp vanilla

1/2 tsp salt

Equipement:

small sauce pain (optional)

mixing bowl

bread pan or cookie sheet

What to Do:

You can mix these in 2 ways : stove top sauce pan, or mixing bowl. I prefer the latter. But if you want to make it a bit more of a smooth mixture:

Mix the peanut butter, honey, and vanilla on low heat in a sauce pan. Stir occasionally until the texture is smooth. add in the oats and protein powder continue to stir.

pour into pan of choice, using wax paper if you want.

Put in freezer or fridge, freezer for 15, fridge for 30.

Cut into equal pieces.

Final Thoughts

Again, as all recipes, this is scalable. I made mine with about double the carbs vs protein content per my macronutrient needs. Fluctuate appropriately.
